This position pays: $115,000 - $140,000

You will:

  • Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Oversee the manufacture of pilot batch and the first 3 productions batches of a new product (if necessary)
  • Advise Formulation staff on experimental trials to support product troubleshooting or reprocessing
  • Advises and assists in the preparation of the yearly Scientific Research and Experimental Development Reports (SR&ED) for tax credit purposes, and check said reports
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and develop new skills in new area of technology through training and awareness programs; by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Nutrition, or Pharmacy or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in Formulation and/or production environment in the nutraceutical or food industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in the use of pilot and production equipment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – technical report writing skills required.
  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications ad MRP software
  • Strong knowledge of GMP Guidelines and NHP Regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to be accurate and detail oriented when preparing or checking documents and reports.
