Title: Wellness Systems Quality Care Coordinator

Salary: $72,841 – $91,051 – $100,156 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday- Friday (core hours- 9:00 am- 3:00 pm)

Location: Prince George, B.C., located on the ancestral territories of the Lheidli T'enneh Nations – 100% on-site

About The Role

As the Wellness Systems Quality Care Coordinator, you will provide an advanced level of culturally safe expertise in supporting all self – identifying First Nations individuals, on a journey to quality care. Quality care is rooted in the story and experience of each First Nations individual/community, providing culturally unique supports in the coordination of feedback and concern. You will work with First Nations community, clients/patients, and health care providers in the acute care, residential services, mental health, public health, home health services and in community systems to support the FNHA approach to complaints and quality client/patient care. Additionally, you will work directly with individuals and community to coordinate an opportunity to hear, document and bring forward stories or experiences that require attention. You will also provide individuals/community with the connection to resources to support healing based upon transparent and accountable documentation of complaint, resolution of issues and the opportunity for improved experience.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have/be –

Education & Experience

  • University degree in social sciences, health, or a related profession
  • Recent, relevant and significant experience, working with First Nations organizations, communities, multifaceted health or social/human service organizations, usually acquired over a period of 5 to 7 years, ideally in the Region
  • Training in patient safety investigation methods and quality improvement is an asset
  • Cultural safety training or trauma informed care training are both assets
  • Experience in handling and navigating First Nations patient/family interactions in a culturally safe and humble manner, including respect, compassion and empathy

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of First Nations communities, ideally within the Region
  • Knowledge of social justice issues, and the impact of social determinants on health

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.

Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
