Surrey Hospitals Foundation is the largest non-government funder of health care for families in Surrey and the surrounding Fraser Valley communities.


Thanks to the generosity of donors, they help fund every one of their region’s major health facilities including Surrey Memorial Hospital and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. They also support and fund the Czorny Alzheimer Centre, along with many specialized community programs for newborns, children, adults and seniors. Their Surrey health care campus provides health care for the whole family, from birth to end-of-life.


Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will provide strategic leadership for the Foundation’s comprehensive financial management and will collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to support the overall mission of SHF. The CFO is directly responsible for all financial systems and functions of the organization and ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. In addition, the CFO will ensure the Foundation’s investments are supported through strong administrative infrastructure.


The ideal candidate will be a seasoned finance leader with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience at a leadership level, ideally in a not-for-profit/charitable organization or within a health authority. They will be a collaborative and relationally oriented and demonstrate the ability to develop and convey a compelling vision, inspire confidence, and advance a strategic agenda across the organization. They will bring both vision and execution skills, be comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done and have change management experience.


A University Degree in Accounting or Business or a related field is necessary, and a Chartered Professional Accountant designation is preferred. This individual must posses a valid driver’s license and have access to a personal vehicle.


The Salary for this position is $160,000 to $180,000 per year.
