Position Information

The primary purpose of this position is to enhance the profile of The Ottawa Hospital as a learning organization and academic

health science centre. The Senior Coordinator, Learning and Leadership Development serves to increase the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a large and diverse target audience which includes all staff, physicians, and students across The Ottawa Hospital and our partner organizations. The Senior Coordinator, Learning and Leadership Development identifies learning needs and opportunities, proactively creates, designs, and implements learning opportunities both in-person and virtually based on best practices in Adult Education. This includes conducting learning needs assessments and developing, delivering, and evaluating learning and eLearning programs that support and enable TOH's vision to provide each patient with the world-class care, exceptional service, and compassion we would want for our loved ones.

Additional services provided by the Senior Coordinator, Learning and Leadership Development include supporting TOH's leaders at all levels with advice, informal coaching, and support to help them grow their leadership skills and to help TOH achieve our strategic objective of creating the leaders of tomorrow. As well the Senior Coordinator, Learning and Leadership Development will assist with planning and delivery of events, as well as the application and debriefing of psychometric tools such as SuccessFinder, EQi2.0, and the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI).

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring

  • Four Year Undergraduate Degree in Education, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field;
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience, which includes designing and delivering training to adult audiences, sound understanding of human performance, adult learning principles, organizational development, instructional design (for both online and face-to-face delivery) and curriculum development;
  • Learning and eLearning design skills including the use of rapid eLearning design software;
  • Microsoft Teams skills including file management;
  • Strong oral presentation and facilitation skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


You will stand out with:

  • Certificate in Adult Education;
  • Certification in SuccessFinder, EQi2.0, and the Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI);
  • Advanced knowledge of the Articulate eLearning Suite;
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft teams virtual environment;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
