    Door Person

    As a Doorperson at Fairmont Palliser, you play a vital role in upholding the Fairmont brand by exceeding guest expectations and representing the hotel with exemplary service. With comprehensive knowledge of the Guest Services Department, the hotel, city attractions, and a commitment to operating standards, you ensure every guest receives an exceptional experience.

    Reporting to the Bell Captain on shift, your responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
    • Adhere to Front Office policies, procedures, and service standards when welcoming guests and assisting with their arrival to or departure from the hotel
    • Provide a warm and engaging welcome to all guests and visitors at the hotel.
    • Maintain order and cleanliness at the front entrance, ensuring a positive first impression
    • Maintain a high level of security awareness at all times.
    • Organize taxis and other catch-a-ride providers for in-house guests and patrons.
    • Coordinate with valet staff for parking and retrieval of vehicles.
    • Direct guests to their destinations within the hotel and stay informed about ongoing functions.
    • Assist with luggage transportation to and from the lobby as required.
    • Provide curb-side check-in at designated areas following Front Office policies and procedures.

    Additional responsibilities when asked to assist:

    • Ensure proper parking of guests' vehicles, including notifying Manager On Duty of any damages before issuing valet tickets.
    • Follow the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies when driving guest vehicles.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • Must be reliable and self-directed, as this position often involves working with little supervision.
    • Personable demeanor and professional appearance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with the public.
    • Must provide a Driver's Abstract and possess a Class 5 Driver’s License, with the ability to drive a vehicle with standard transmission.
    • Previous experience in Guest Relations or Bell Desk operations is an asset.
    • Current First Aid & CPR certification is an asset.
