The Director of Finance & Business Support is a key member of the property Executive Committee, offering professional, friendly and engaging service to Clients, Owners, Suppliers and fellow Colleagues. 

What you will be doing:

  • Analyzes and advises on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues.
  • Analyzes financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures; provides strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial objectives.
  • Works closely with the Hotel Ownership to provide business support and analysis as required.
  • Leads and manages the Accounting (including Centralized Accounting team members), Purchasing, Receiving and IT departments and ensures all standards are followed.
  • Supports, guides and directs his team members by providing coaching with Colleague Relations insuring positive Colleague Engagement.
  • Develops Colleague Engagement Survey Action Plans with team.
  • Acting as a leader and role model in the adherence to all Accor standards, the successful candidate will exhibit Accor’s values at all times.
  • Participates actively to the Executive Committee, Department Head and Revenue Management meetings and any other meetings as required.
  • Participates actively in the preparation of annual Operating Budget, Rolling Forecast, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget as well as the Strategic Plan.
  • Responsible for oversight of Hotel Capital process in conjunction with General Manager. 
  • Ensures labor management and other available tools are properly used by managers to set and monitor staffing levels and productivity targets with the goal of ensuring a balance between service and profitability.
  • Ensures full compliance with Accor, IFRS and internal financial controls and seeks innovative ways to improve performance on a regular basis.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual reports and ensures accurate and efficient monthly, quarterly and year- end results.
  • Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and monitors the implementation and maintenance of operational controls and strategies.
  • Ensures cash flow is adequate to meet the needs of the operation.  Approves all cash disbursements and ensures that all disbursements are properly documented and executed.  Approves all rebates, adjustments and allowances in accordance with Accor policy.
  • Oversees of Budget and Forecast activities and assists Departmental Leaders as required through financial training and mentoring.
  • Ensures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • Protects Accor and the Hotel Ownership`s interests in the Hotel assets and operations, including liaison with Corporate Legal and Risk Management when the need arises.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Senior Financial Leader with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with preference given to candidates with hotel / hospitality leadership.
  • Canadian Accounting Designation preferred.
  • Computer literate with complex accounting software and other tools such as Microsoft applications and relevant computer applications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible & reliable with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
