We are currently looking for a Product Owner (PO) on our System of Systems team that supports deliveries for the communication and situation awareness infrastructure for the Canadian Army’s Land Command Support System. (LCSS) You will work in partnership with our customer to align on priorities and execution. This opportunity will place you in the middle of the DND and GDMS-C facility in Ottawa where prototyping, testing, training, demonstrations, decisions and coordination happens.
As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for a team of engineers working in unison across disciplines to deliver critical capability to the Canadian Army. As a team we are proud of the work and services that we provide to our customer and end user.
In this role, no two days are the same! Working primarily in a lab environment, you can expect to:
- Collaborate directly with the customer for scope definition and prioritization
- Develop a close working relation across all TSIL Integrated Product Teams and Engineering disciplines
- Implement/develop plans to support characterization and assessment of baselines prior to delivery to the customer
- Supporting offsite events, training and validation exercises
- Leading a team of motivated engineers.
- Education Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, Science or equivalent in a related technical degree/diploma supplemented with applicable experience.
- Five years of practical experience, relevant co-op or internship with a focus on Systems engineering and/or integration and verification of complex electronic systems at a system level (design, development, and verification)
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Two years leadership experience to draw on. However, you can expect support/mentorship by the management and engineering team in this role.
- Good communication and corporation skills are essential to lead a team of dedicated engineers, work closely/directly with the customer and collaborate across the program.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations.
Ideally, you may also have experience in some of the following:
- Experience in defining, developing, and executing system tests
- Analysis, development and derivation of operational requirements
- Investigation, characterization, and resolution of complex defects
- Knowledge of Army structure, operational concepts, and systems
- Familiarity with Ethernet communications, networking, VLANs, Internet Protocol (IP)
