Business Analyst (Machine Learning)

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Business Analyst with 5+ yrs BA experience, history working with Jira and Confluence, and strengths in preparing data for machine learning, to place at our client, a major international retailer.

Client: Major International Retailer

Term: 6-month contract

Location: Mississauga- Hybrid, 2 days in office (tues/thurs)

The Opportunity:

We are searching for a highly skilled Business Analyst III to join our client, a major international retailer, and play a vital role in their growing e-commerce business. This individual will bridge the gap between business needs and machine learning solutions, ensuring high-quality data analysis and delivery of actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze, document, and improve business processes.
• Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications for machine learning models.
• Ensure data quality, accessibility, and relevance for analysis.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and provide data-driven insights.
• Assist with project planning and guide team members.
  
  

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• 5+ years of Business Analyst experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience preparing data for machine learning models (textual focus)
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience working in a fast-paced or agile environment.
• Experience with SQL, specifically BigQuery
