Service Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Manager with a strong background in the installation, service, and inspection of fire alarm, security, and sprinkler systems (a plus). The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the service operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and Inspection: Conduct regular testing, inspection, verification, and servicing of fire alarm systems and devices to ensure they are functioning correctly and comply with safety standards.
  • Site Inspection: Inspect installation sites and review work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
  • Customer Demonstrations: Demonstrate systems for customers, explaining details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms, and providing training on system usage.
  • System Maintenance: Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local and national security standards and regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a customer-oriented mentality, addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including inspections, repairs, and customer interactions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance service quality and efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • CFAA License: Must hold a valid CFAA (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) license.
  • Experience: Prior experience with monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems, and security systems is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Siemens and/or Mircom ESD systems is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer-oriented approach and deliver exceptional service.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Additional certifications in fire and life safety systems are a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with systems including fire alarm, security, and sprinkler preferred.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry standards.
  • CFAA License
  • Prior experience with monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems and security systems preferred.
  • Siemens and/or Mircom ESD experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude & strong work ethic.
  •  Customer oriented mentality.
