About The Role

We’re looking for Accident Benefits Claims Representatives to join our growing team!

What You'll Do Here

  • Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable
  • Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements
  • Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as medical examinations, customer medical or employment history as required to clarify and/or justify a claim
  • Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet our legislative requirements
  • Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness

What You Bring To The Table

  • 1+ years of claims adjusting experience required (Auto, Property, Accident Benefits, Total Loss, Casualty, Specialty)
  • Accident Benefits claims handling is preferred
  • Alignment with IFC company organizational values
  • Medical knowledge is an asset
  • Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
  • Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • A critical thinker when it comes to approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situations and with minimal supervision
  • A skilled communicator, allowing you to foster favorable business relationships
  • Have a keen ability to listen to others with the goal of gathering information, allowing you to efficiently evaluate a situation
  • Go above and beyond for our customers and your colleagues because you truly want to make a difference
  • Have strong desk management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
