About The Work Environment

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto, and Vancouver offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of these areas will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About You

You are an aspiring enterprise risk management professional who is looking for something different than traditional roles. You are a dynamic, innovative, and solution-oriented strategic thinker and a collaborator who is passionate about advancing risk management practices to drive business results. You have developed strong business acumen in the areas you support, and you are known for partnering with the business, and leveraging resources available to you to help achieve business objectives. You are now seeking an opportunity to join the enterprise risk management team of an entrepreneurial and multi-faceted organization and play a critical role in this organization’s growth journey.

About The Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of risk management experience (e.g., enterprise, operational, financial etc.)
  • Post secondary education in a relevant field (finance, business, accounting).
  • Newly or part-qualified CPA or equivalent (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Ability to analyze complex business issues, understand and leverage data, build tailored and practical solutions, and translate them into concise, actionable, and impactful recommendations.
  • Strong organization, planning and project management skills and ability to execute effectively in dynamic environments, and under tight timelines.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, data analysis, visualization, and presentation tools (ex. Excel, Power BI).
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Effective communicator and adept at building professional relationships.
  • Familiarity with OSFI regulations and key business processes (e.g., corporate governance, third party management, strategic planning, performance management, project management, risk management, and / or other areas, standards, and frameworks) would be beneficial.
  • Financial services experience with a federally regulated financial institution is strongly preferred.

About The Day-to-day

  • Co-ordinate enterprise and operational risk management programs.
  • Support enterprise risk management projects (e.g., climate risk).
  • Operate and maintain the Resolver risk management platform.
  • Facilitate/Support the risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) process, new initiative risk assessment process, and the operational risk event reporting process.
  • Support financial risk assessments where needed.
  • Support the annual corporate insurance renewal program.
  • Support the running of risk management councils and committees.
  • Analyze internal monthly financial performance reports and communicate results to the wider team.
  • Support the overall enterprise risk management team on an ongoing basis.

Compensation

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $75,000 and $85,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
