Immediate opening at the Penticton Regional Hospital for a permanent part-time 0.75fte acute care registered Social Worker. This position is part of a shared 7 day per week line that covers areas in acute care and the Emergency Dept. This position follows a 5 days on, 5 days off, 2 days on 2 days off schedule. Shift times are 08:20 to 16:30.

About The Position
The Social Worker provides comprehensive assessment, care planning and treatment coordination for designated clients and their families. Working collaboratively with other health care providers and the multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides direct psychosocial care, counseling and group work, system navigation and advocacy, education and linkage to relevant specialized complex care resources while facilitating client self management. The Social Worker is responsible for providing and developing social work services to maintain or improve the health and social well-being and functioning of the identified population.
About this location
Penticton Regional Hospital (PRH) is a referral centre for three community hospitals and one diagnostic centre in the South Okanagan. Our Emergency department sees upwards of 36k visits and we have 129 acute beds and 102 extended care beds and offer a full range of health services to the community.
Penticton has one of the best year-round climates in Canada, where you can enjoy two beautiful lakes, acres of parks, and wilderness trails on the local mountains. Penticton's population is approximately 33,000 and offers small town charm with bigger city amenities. Live work and play where others only vacation!
