Position Information

The Process Engineer is part of the overall organization strategy to enrich the quality of care provided to our patients. This position will directly contribute to the triple aim strategy to deliver Better Patient Experience through process flow analysis and redesign and Better Quality at Less Cost through analysis of process waste and expertise in improving service design. As such, the Process Engineer will be an integral position at the strategic, educative and operational levels within the organization. This position is important for the success of the overall strategic direction of the organization.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Engineering;
  • Three (3) years of professional experience analyzing and improving large-scale processes;
  • Knowledge of hospital organizational and health care delivery system;
  • Demonstrated experience in project management;
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated application application of process improvement methodologies, including an understanding of statistical process control;
  • Ability to analyze service activities and translate into defined process maps;
  • Ability to perform complex quantitative analyses processes and systems to identify areas for improvement related to quality outputs and cost;
  • Ability to facilitate cross-disciplinary process improvement working groups;
  • Ability to develop and implement process improvement systems;
  • Excellent coordinating and project management skills;
  • Proficient statistical analysis skills;
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to lead and motivate people to embrace quality improvement philosophy and management;
  • Self-directed and works independently;
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects running in parallel;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent computer skills for report generation and graphics presentation;
  • Proficiency with use of audiovisual equipment and public speaking/presenting experience;
  • Ability to balance multiple stakeholder priorities while ensuring that patient needs remain central to all decisions;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field;
  • Certification P Eng designation, Black Belt or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Master Black Belt, Project Management.
