About This Role

Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Windsor, Ontario is currently recruiting for a full-time Groundsperson.

Greenlawn Memorial Gardens has 120 developed acres, an onsite Funeral Home and Sales-Administration office, onsite Crematorium and an extensive Cremation center providing approximately 820 dispositions annually.

The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner.

This position is based on a 40-hour work week and may change as required for the needs of the business including working overtime as required.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Qualifications And Demonstrated Abilities

  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Mechanically inclined having either formal mechanical training or experience would be an asset.
  • Heavy equipment operator’s training or certification would be an asset.
  • A certificate in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) would be an asset.
  • A team player, with a positive attitude and the ability to multitask and set priorities.
  • Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors would be assets.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
  • Exemplifies Arbor’s values of compassion, integrity, trust, teamwork, belonging and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be required to perform ground burials, crypt entombments and cremation niche interment, as well as crematorium operations.
  • All aspects of cemetery care including customer service, memorial and monument installations, equipment maintenance and grounds maintenance.
