The Planning, Programs & Operations Team

The Planning, Programs & Operations (PPO) team leads strategic programs to accelerate scale and business outcomes across Okta. We drive processes and initiatives where dependencies and ambiguity exist and deep cross-functional interactions are needed to achieve success. The Staff Technical Program Manager Opportunity

We seek a Staff Technical Program Manager who demonstrates strong leadership and a strategic mindset, with a proven track record in driving cross-functional initiatives. You possess an in-depth understanding of BT infrastructure, security, business applications, and data landscapes. The ideal candidate will utilize their agile project management expertise to collaborate with business units, partners, and technical teams, ensuring successful outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will manage large cross-functional projects and programs, serving the needs of multiple stakeholders, working on issues where critical thinking & active stakeholder management will be essential
  • You will build and track key deliverables & artifacts, developing risk mitigation plans where needed to ensure intended business outcomes & objectives
  • You will facilitate decision making up and down the organization with SteerCo discussions, team level alignment and technical design meetings, right sizing the types & frequency of communication and collaboration needed
  • You will be an advocate for process improvements evolving how we work in SaaS and Agile environments

What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • You are comfortable diving deep into the technical details across multiple disciplines and can leverage your technical domain knowledge to facilitate conversations solving critical challenges & hard problems
  • You operate with a high-degree of autonomy, easily removing ambiguity and managing dependencies across multiple teams, exercising independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • You have 5-8 years of project/program management experience in a cloud/SaaS environment & solid understanding of working within an agile framework
  • You have the ability to influence and navigate the organization without authority and are an expert communicator
  • You have demonstrated ability working with project management & collaboration tools (Jira, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, Tempus, Asana, Slack, Zoom, Lucid, Confluence, Coupa, etc.)
  • Bachelors of Science in CS, MIS, related degree or equivalent work experience with minimum of 4 years of technical work experience

And extra credit if you have experience in any of the following!

  • PMP & Scrum certification desirable (CSM, A-CSM, etc)

Below is the annual salary range for candidates located in Canada. Your actual salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance, RRSP with a match, healthcare spending, telemedicine, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in Canada is between:

$101,000—$151,000 CAD
