Who are you?

The HRBP role requires a strategic, people-centric, and results-driven professional who aligns HR initiatives with business objectives and business needs for the Canadian business. This role is responsible for the seamless delivery and execution of a full range of HR initiatives in support of Turner & Townsend’s global HR standards and business objectives. The incumbent works closely with the local management leadership team, and with the broader regional HR team, to develop and manage an HR agenda to support the company’s business objectives.

The HRBP provides strategic counsel to leadership on best practices that maximize employee development, efficiency, engagement and retention. This role champions a diverse and inclusive workforce throughout the employee lifecycle and fosters a culture of continuous improvement through performance management. Specifically, the HRBP acts as a trusted advisor, providing HR support to senior leaders, line managers and employees across our Canadian offices, as well as to employees located in nearby satellite/client offices. Preferably, the ideal candidate resides in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal and is willing to travel to other offices as needed. This role reports directly to the Director HR, Canada.



The HRBP is expected to have strong business knowledge, a comprehensive understanding of HR, and sound acumen in delivering all aspects of Human Resources, including, but not limited to, employee relations, performance management and talent management/development, with support from global and regional HR teams. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in progressively responsible HR roles and a degree in Human Resource Management or a related field, along with a CHRP, CRHA, CPHR or additional HR certification. The HRBP must excel in promoting diversity awareness and in advising and mentoring leadership across all stages of the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted business partner and HR subject matter expert advisor to senior executives and managers.
  • Develop HR strategies and practices with leadership to enhance employee development, performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Leverage the employee engagement platform to communicate results, identify trends in data, and propose solutions to managers.
  • Recommend policy changes to support business needs based on provincial legislation.
  • Guide the day-to-day execution of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation to managers and employees.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Advocate for employee engagement and well-being.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as needed to build relationships with the broader team, assigned business units, and deliver on key responsibilities.


  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and performance management.
  • Bilingual in French and English is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labour Relations or a related discipline; CHRP, CRHA, CPHR, or other HR certification preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of provincial employment laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
