We are looking for a Business Excellence Lead, Canada who is proficient in project management methodologies with a track record of successful project delivery, maintains strong analytical skills to assess complex information and make data-driven decisions and a proven track record identifying issues, evaluating alternatives and implementing effective solutions, to join our Business Excellence team, ideally based in our Oakville office in Ontario, Canada.

About The Role

You will drive operational efficiency and strategic transformation within our organization. This role will be pivotal in leading a team of operations coordinators to ensure seamless execution of tactical activities that support our businesses. Additionally, the Business Excellence Lead will directly play a strategic project management role managing projects aimed at enhancing company culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion, talent management, digital transformation, among others.

In the future, this position may also: manage the Omnichannel Stakeholder Engagement team to ensure an excellent customer experience; as well as supervise Sales Force Training and Learning & Development initiatives focused on the field teams.

Who You’ll Work With

The Business Excellence Lead, Canada will report to the General Manager and work closely with UCB Canada’s Leadership Team and Leadership Community. This role is expected to interact with several functions of the organization by supporting strategic projects that aim to transform the company and strengthen it for the future. Also, there will be strong connections with the Business franchises/units as this role will supervise the operational support to the businesses.

What You’ll Do

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of operations coordinators in executing tactical business activities, including contract preparation, payment processing, compliance documentation, and event reconciliation.
    • Oversee the management of Grants and Sponsorship requests from Health Care Providers and Organizations, ensuring efficient processing and compliance with company policies.
    • Create and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that help track progress on process efficiency, assess workload and inform future staffing needs for operational support.
  • Strategic Project Management:
    • Support project leads to ensure efficient, successful and timely execution of strategic projects.
    • Drive the planning and execution of mid- to long-term strategic projects focused on cultural transformation, DE&I initiatives, talent management, launch readiness, digital transformation and others.
    • Create strategic project reports and KPIs to report progress to the company Leadership Team.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations, project management, or a related role, preferably within the biopharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing cross-functional projects. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team towards achieving operational and strategic goals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Project and Program Management
