Make an impact with our Consumer Insolvency team as an Estate Manager. This diverse team of professionals assists Canadians with navigating and overcoming financial challenges and achieving financial freedom. As a trusted advisor, you’ll help individuals recover from times of financial distress and regain control of their finances.

Responsibilities

  • Perform consultations with consumer clients and provide advice and guidance on consumer insolvency options
  • Prepare documents necessary for filing consumer insolvency proceedings, proficiency in use of Ascend and knowledge of OSB e-filing system
  • Deliver insolvency credit counselling sessions as required by the OSB Directive on counselling.
  • Think strategically about client needs by understanding the risks; confer with Partners/Trustees on complicated and high-risk files regarding course of action and whether to accept engagements
  • Assist with back office administration of consumer bankruptcies and consumer proposals, such as preparation of final SRD’s, tax returns, 170 reports, 45 day reviews, certificates of full performance and discharge, etc.
  • Develop relationships with potential referral sources and build brand recognition within the marketplace
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client
  • Maintain high quality standards by careful review of work and ensuring documentation accurately reflects the clients financial affairs
  • Provide excellent client service by ensuring timely responses, helpful and empathetic attitude and anticipation of client needs
  • Promote MNP insolvency and advisory services through the delivery of presentations, writing articles, facilitating workshops or participating in community activities, as required
  • Develop a thorough understanding of MNP’s services, businesses and industry
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Promote regular attendance, balanced lifestyle and high standard of team wellness
  • Attend internal MNP courses to further develop knowledge around performance improvement
  • Ability to travel between offices, mainly in the Barrie and surrounding area.


Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset
  • Completion of the Insolvency Administration course and/or BIA Insolvency Counselor course
  • Working towards, or willingness to work towards, a CIRP designation is considered an asset
  • 4 to 5 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside of insolvency will also be considered
  • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
