Reporting to the Regional Director, Alberta, the Branch Manager is responsible for the organized, successful, and profitable operation of the branch. As part of the management team, the Branch Manager helps create and maintain a professional and well-run organization that capitalizes on new opportunities while addressing existing business challenges.


Responsibilities


Sales & Operations:

  • Aggressively pursue new market opportunities in both residential and commercial business.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure the company is considered for all large projects by maintaining productive relationships with local engineers.
  • Oversee efficient operations of the sales counter, point of purchase displays, and warehouse.
  • Direct diligent inventory management, including regular cycle counting, spot-checking, and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Lead regular meetings with branch personnel, focusing on operations, sales, and safety.
  • Keep the Regional Director of Sales Branch Operations informed of all pertinent information.
  • Work with the Procurement Department to recommend changes in inventory levels, address slow-moving products, and coordinate product allocation when necessary.

General Duties:

  • Oversee all aspects of the branch, including Sales and Marketing, Customer Service, Human Resources, Inventory Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Purchasing, and financial functions like accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, budgeting, and credit and collections.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to encourage repeat business.
  • Maintain expert-level product and industry knowledge through continuing education, seminars, training courses, and industry events.
  • Ensure all employees follow policies and procedures related to customer service and technical support.
  • Collaborate with all of the company's divisions, including Manufacturing, to ensure effective, efficient, economical, and safe operations.
  • Develop strategies and plans in conjunction with the Regional Director of Sales Branch Operations.


People Leadership:

  • Conduct periodic employee reviews and make wage and bonus recommendations.
  • Recruit and terminate employees with the approval of the Regional Director of Sales Branch Operations.
  • Ensure the branch employs the optimal number of qualified staff to meet company objectives.
  • Create and maintain a professional, energetic, and enthusiastic workplace environment that aids in recruiting and retaining high-performance employees.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in a supervisory role or 5+ years in an Outside Sales or Purchasing position.
  • Experience in a Branch Manager, Operations Manager, or Sales Management role.
  • Degree or diploma in Administration, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or Management.
  • Leadership experience and business acumen.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems.
  • Willingness to continually upgrade skills through education, coaching, or training opportunities.
