Role impact:

To maintain, prepare, analyze, and report accurate financial statements on a timely basis in accordance with company policy/guidelines for both internal and external use and other finance & accounting tasks including oversight and maintenance of the general ledger

What you will deliver:

  • Maintain the G/L and working paper files for all assigned properties by posting journal entries, preparing financial statements for audit and reviewing bank accounts to ensure that financial reports and statements reflect accurate numbers for senior management and co-owners
  • Prepare monthly management report package for owners including various reports, detailed schedules and variance analysis by coordinating with other departments to consolidate information and provide the financial information required for decision making by senior management and co-owners
  • Oversee and process funding requests, and distributions
  • Process and post journal entries and maintain accountability for the overall property G/L and reporting
  • Process and ensure accuracy of mortgage schedules and payments, fixed assets, and chargebacks
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Works with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of accounting policy and procedures (GAAP/IFRS) and Legal documentation
  • Strong computer skills with a high level of competency in Excel, Word, Google suite and Yardi Voyager


What you need to succeed:

  • University degree in Finance, Business, Commerce or Accounting
  • Working towards CPA designation with significant progress towards completion; full designation is an asset
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience in a real estate or property management environment
