About the work environment:  

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.  

We are hiring for this position out of our Toronto offices. Successful candidates who apply outside of this area will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.  

About You

You're a collaborator, a leader and an expert in all things "Cloud"; a strategic thinker who can drive both the technical and business roadmaps, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You’re comfortable implementing solid technical solutions focusing on automating CI/CD pipelines, observability frameworks, security enhancements, and overall system reliability. You enjoy working in a team dynamic and understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration in delivering Agile projects.

About The Qualifications

  • 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role within a DevOps, SRE, or similar environment.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • Mastery in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Ruby, Java, Go, or C#.
  • Expert knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD methodologies and tools (Jenkins, GitHub Action CI, CircleCI, etc.).
  • Advanced skills in infrastructure as code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Strong background in monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, DataDog).
  • Proven ability to manage high-traffic, scalable production systems.
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and multi-region deployments.
  • Experience working in PCI-compliant environments.
  • Strong understanding of IT security best practices and data protection regulations.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

About The Day-to-day

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the DevOps, CloudOps, and SRE teams.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of highly scalable, available, resilient, and performant cloud architectures.
  • Prepare, estimate, and communicate high-level plans and roadmaps.
  • Drive the automation of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Drive automation initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce manual efforts.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including detailed post-mortem analysis.
  • Ensure high availability and automated failover mechanisms are in place.
  • Manage disaster recovery planning and multi-region deployments.
  • Enhance security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including PCI compliance.

Compensation: 

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. In addition, we are pleased to offer employees both group benefits and the option to participate in our RRSP matching program, beginning the first day of employment Salary for this position will vary between $150,000.00 and $180,000.00 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience that the chosen candidate possess. As part of our recruiting process, shortlisted candidates will be asked their salary expectations for this position.
