Reporting to the Finance Lead, the Accounts Payable Administrator role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision.

This position is located in Toronto, Ontario.

What you'll be working on

  • Review and process high volume of invoices and review expense reports for coding and backup.
  • Follow up with project managers, project accounting teams, other departments and vendors to ensure issues with invoices are resolved and payments are processed in a timely manner
  • Accurately record invoices in the accounting systems for both the home and project organization, following the three-way match principles.
  • Adhere to corporate policies and procedures (including the Levels of Authority and Delegation) especially those that relates to the purchase, payable and payment business cycle
  • Handle vendor inquiries and do vendor statement analysis.
  • Assist the finance team in monthly account reconciliations for the accounts payable related accounts
  • Time sheet management - ensuring daily timesheets are submitted.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

What we are looking for

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable
  • Prior experience in handling accounts payable in a project based company is an asset.
  • General knowledge of accounting principles and concepts
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks, effective time management skills and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Adaptable and flexible in taking on new tasks and responsibilities
  • Experience with ERPs. JD Edwards financial system an asset
  • Organized, self-motivated, team player as well as an individual contributor
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Accustomed to a fast-paced environment
