Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for an experienced Dayforce Payroll Specialist based in Toronto. If you have experience in payroll processing for 400+ employees and are currently looking for a great new opportunity, check out the details below!

  • Payroll Processing: calculate and process employee salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and overtime accurately. Ensure timely and accurate payments through direct deposits, checks, or other payment methods.
  • Data Entry and Maintenance: maintain accurate employee information records, including personal details, tax withholding, and banking information. Update payroll databases with changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and employment status updates.
  • Tax Compliance: calculate and withhold the correct amounts for federal, provincial, and local income taxes, as well as CPP and EI contributions. Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual returns. Experience with compliance across all federal and provincial regulations and handling CRA requirements is essential.
  • Benefits Administration: administer employee benefit calculations (deductions/taxable benefits) related to payroll processing, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. Ensure accurate deductions and contribution for benefits programs, with a working knowledge of benefits regulatory and company-specific requirements.
  • Time and Attendance: track and record employee attendance, including hours worked, time off, and leave balances. Calculate and process paid time off, such as vacation and sick leave.
  • Recordkeeping: maintain accurate and organized payroll records in physical and electronic formats. Prepare and retain payroll reports, including pay stubs and TD1s.
  • Audits and Reconciliation: conduct regular audits of payroll records to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy. Reconcile payroll accounts and promptly resolve any discrepancies.
  • Year-End Processes: prepare and distribute annual tax forms, including T4s, to employees. Assist with year-end payroll reconciliations and reporting.


  • Previous experience processing full-cycle payroll for 400+ employees across in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec, ideally in an administration-based or similar role.
  • Holds a Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation.
  • Strong understanding of the Ceridian Dayforce processing platform, with experience in payroll software management (Dayforce/Ceridian) and the ability to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the organization.
  • Background in accounting and finance with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with federal and all provincial compliance in dealing with CRA requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and team members across the organization.
  • Self-starter and problem solver with a solution-driven approach; excited to learn from an experienced team that is passionate about payroll!
