Description:

Course Code and Title: PLID56H3 - Special Topics in Language Disorders in Children

Course Description: An in-depth investigation of a particular type of language or communication disorder, for example, impairment due to hearing loss, Down syndrome, or autism. Topics will include: linguistic and non-linguistic differences between children with the disorder and typically-developing children; diagnostic tools and treatments for the disorder; and its genetics and neurobiology.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduate Degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Speech Language Pathology, Linguistics, Neuroscience, Psychology, Gerontology, Health Sciences, or a related field of study. Strong academic record and professional promise. Teaching experience is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to those with a background in SLP or Linguistics as course must be taught from a Linguistic, Psycholinguistic, or SLP perspective.

Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.

Sessional Lecturer I $9,457.90
Sessional Lecturer I Long Term $9,930.79
Sessional Lecturer II $10,121.77
Sessional Lecturer II Long Term $10,326.62
Sessional Lecturer III $10,362.76
Sessional Lecturer III Long Term $10,570.01.
