Position Details

We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our Calgary office. In this role, you will be working in a collaborative team on mechanical design projects from schematic design through to construction. Creative thinking and a proactive attitude, along with strong communication, organizational and report writing skills, are essential.

This is an entry-level position where you will gain hands-on, practical engineering experience specializing in plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection design. You will be on a team and work directly with other engineers and designers, including attending project meetings, in-house training sessions and on-site field reviews. We are looking for someone who is motivated, talented, and a committed team member to join us.


Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building control systems.
  • System design calculations and equipment selections.
  • Preparation of contract drawings and documentation.
  • Project coordination with team designers and external design professionals
  • Comply with AME Quality Management standards and processes.


Key Skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Revit, IESve and HAP would be an asset.
  • Clear and concise communication, both orally and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a team.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or Technical diploma in Building Design.
  • Past co-op experience with a Building Engineering company would be an asset.
