Bilingual Automotive Service Advisor

Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced automotive mechanic who is fluent in both English and French for a full-time, permanent office position. The ideal candidate will use their technical expertise to liaise between customers and shop mechanics, reviewing and approving repairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with customers and mechanics in both English and French
  • Review and analyze repair orders and diagnostic reports
  • Approve repair recommendations based on technical knowledge and company guidelines
  • Explain complex mechanical issues to customers in clear, understandable terms
  • Coordinate with shop mechanics to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of all communications, approvals, and repair histories
  • Assist in inventory management and parts ordering as needed
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
  • Provide technical support and guidance to mechanics when required
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an automotive mechanic (minimum 5 years)
  • Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken)
  • Valid automotive technician certification
  • Strong technical knowledge of various vehicle makes and models
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in computer systems and automotive diagnostic software
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
