Are you detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about safety and risk management? Do you have experience with residential property inspections? If so, Millennium Insurance is looking to add a Risk Assessor, personal Property to our growing team!

As a Risk Assessor, Personal Property, you will play a crucial role in identifying potential risks and recommending measures to minimize losses for our insured properties. You will conduct thorough inspections of residential properties, evaluate safety and risk factors, and provide detailed reports to support underwriting decisions and enhance loss prevention strategies.

Please be advised that this role requires travel within Edmonton and surrounding areas, a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

What You Will Be Doing

• Conduct detailed inspections of residential properties and personal property contents, including structural elements, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, and interior/exterior components.
• Identify potential loss exposures and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and diagrams, to document findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams to provide insights and support for risk assessment and policy issuance.
• Educate policyholders on loss prevention techniques and best practices to reduce risk.
• Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and safety regulations to ensure compliance and effectiveness in inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and follow-up actions.
• Communicate effectively with clients to explain inspection results and answer questions.
• Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Maintain professional equipment and ensure it is in proper working condition.
  
  

What You Bring To The Team

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in property inspection, loss control, construction, or a related field.
• Experience with building codes, residential construction, building restoration, or as a home inspector required.
• Home Inspector license in Alberta is considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observation skills.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports.
• Physical ability to inspect properties, including climbing ladders, entering attics and crawl spaces, and standing for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract and willingness to travel for on-site inspections when necessary.
• Proficient computer skills, including experience with claims management software and MS Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.
• High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• High degree of emotional intelligence and empathy
