Bookkeeper

Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the manufacturing industry, located in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The role is for a 4-6 week Bookkeeper, where the incumbent will be responsible for a range of tasks related to accounts payable, payroll, banking, and accounting. The workplace is 100% onsite, providing an engaging and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and efficient processing of supplier invoices, including matching to PO's and receiving reports, obtaining approval, and coding for data entry.
• Handle supplier enquiries and maintain regular communication.
• Conduct daily bank reconciliations and deposit cheques as required.
• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees, including processing new hires, terminations, and other changes.
• Manage the company's benefit plans, enrolling and removing employees as necessary.
• Respond to employee enquiries regarding benefits and payroll matters.
• Reconcile subledgers such as cash, A/R, and A/P.
• Update currency rates daily in ERP and prepare month-end accrued payables.
• Provide coverage for other accounting support and administrative functions during vacations or absences.
  
  

Skills

• Proficiency in Sage 300 and ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Bookkeeping, and Payroll.
• Experience in bi-Monthly Payroll and Check Runs.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Demonstrable knowledge and skills in Bookkeeping
• Strong capabilities in using Microsoft Excel
• Experience in managing Payroll operations
• Familiarity with bi-Monthly Payroll
• Experience in conducting Check Runs
• Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now
• Familiarity with Sage 300 software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
