Senior Legal Counsel

Our client is a global construction & logistics company and I am supporting them in their search for a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Legal Counsel to join their team. As Senior Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in leading the legal function for their Canadian operations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of corporate, commercial, labour and employment law.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal guidance to management on all company-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and laws.
• Manage litigation and negotiate settlements.
• Prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, agreements, policies, and procedures.
• Advise Human Resources on labor and employment matters, including dispute resolution.
• Develop legal strategies to protect company rights and ensure lawful operations.
• Support and advise on other relevant matters as needed.
  
  

Skills & Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in any Canadian Province.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, preferably in the construction/logistics industry.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and meet deadlines
• Comprehensive understanding of corporate law, commercial law, labor/employment law, and industry-specific regulation
• Fluency in French is mandatory.
