THE ROLE

We are recruiting for a temporary (3-month contract) Accountant on behalf of a client specializing in providing Energy Services. This is an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join and contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced team, with a focus on accuracy, detail, and confidentiality. The Accountant role is primarily in-office. You will report directly to the Senior Accountant and play a key role in managing various financial tasks in compliance with ASPE and GAAP standards.

The client is looking for an Accountant with strong AR and AP skills and experience working with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and complete bookkeeping records in compliance with ASPE.
  • Record and review all financial data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly bank, accounts receivable, and other account reconciliations.
  • Generate and distribute invoices (multi-currency) and credit notes.
  • Post journal entries in line with GAAP standards.
  • Manage and apply bank transactions.
  • Analyse and prepare bank deposits, maintaining both electronic and physical records.
  • Enter and process accounts payable invoices with proper coding and approval.
  • Process credit card expenses and employee reports.
  • Assist with weekly cheque runs and EFT payments.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as organizing paid invoices.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Dynamics GP.
  • At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable, or payroll.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts, including ASPE.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.
