We are looking for highly organized and analytical individual to join our Distribution team as a Compliance Analyst. The successful candidate will be instrumental in consolidating and performing a variety of compliance and risk management-related tasks under the direction of the AVP, Commercial Solutions National Operations to support the establishment of a risk and control environment within the day-to-today operations. How you will create impact:

  • Managing all Broker/MGA Distribution records, including assisting with the preparation and maintenance of distribution and profit-sharing agreements, and actively monitoring compliance with contractual requirements (i.e. licensing, errors & omissions insurance, market conduct, etc.).
  • Monitoring regulatory compliance activities within the business unit to identify gaps and proactively engaging with business partners to ensure issues are addressed, supporting the AVP Finance in reporting significant breaches to Corporate Compliance. Collaborating with business unit partners to contribute to project plans on Sovereign-specific initiatives to ensure effective implementation of legal, regulatory and internal control solutions under the guidance of the AVP, Finance, Corporate Compliance & Legal, and Enterprise Risk Management teams.
  • Acting as the key contact for inquiries received in Sovereign’s corporate mailboxes (i.e. privacy and compliance mailboxes), responding to internal/external inquiries following preliminary investigation of raised matters and as appropriate, making business unit process refinement recommendations.

What you need to know:

  • Detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.
  • You may handle sensitive information where a high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.

To join our team:

  • You have a minimum 3 years business/compliance/risk management-related experience in the financial services industry.
  • A post-secondary education in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Working towards (or willing to work towards) the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations is an asset.
