The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

About the Team

In Human Resources (HR), we support a large, distributed organization with a range of services from our Talent & Compensation, Organizational Development & Change, Employee Relations and Investigations, and Occupational Health and Safety teams. About the Role:

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our newly created Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Department as an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisor at the Liquor Distribution Branch.

Reporting to the Director of Reconciliation and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (REDI), this role supports the implementation of corporate EDI initiatives aligned with legislation and ministry mandates. The position partners with internal teams and ministries to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (EDI) strategies across the LDB.

As an EDI Advisor you will:

• Lead the development and implementation of branch-wide EDI programs, conduct research, and recommend strategies.

• Manage EDI projects and initiatives, collaborating with HR teams and acting as a subject-matter expert.

• Evaluate the progress of EDI initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Oversee data collection and tracking against benchmarks to assess the current state.

• Support the development of strategic plans, guiding senior leadership on best practices in EDI.

• Collaborate on communication strategies to promote EDI initiatives within the organization.

• Supervise one employee, providing mentorship and professional development


Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Degree or Diploma in Law or a related field, ideally with a focus on dispute resolution, human rights, or EDI, plus a minimum of 4 years of recent, relevant experience*.

Recent, related experience must be within the last 6 years and include:

• Managerial experience promoting and implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives.

• Leading communications and change management for complex issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing programs aligned with organizational goals.

• Experience in large, unionized environments (> 500 employees, > $30M revenue, > $15M capital).

• Consultative experience with executive leadership and HR practitioners.

• Experience leading and developing others as a direct supervisor.

Candidates who are located near a BCLDB worksite will be offered hybrid work opportunities. For candidates not located near a BCLDB office, fully remote work will be considered, with the expectation that the candidate is able to travel to nearby BCLDB sites on an as-needed basis (i.e. store locations, etc.). Occasional overnight travel may be required.


Compensation and Benefits Package:

The salary range for this role is $76,500 - $108,100 per annum.
