Key Accountabilities
:• Lead and supervise a team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and productivity in Converting Operation
s• Ensure work is performed safely and in accordance with OHS standards; that workers are protected from any hazards and such hazards are identified and controlled; and workers use the prescribed safety equipmen
t• Maintain and enforce quality standards including food safety (GMP) and good housekeeping protocols; support operations in customer and third party audit
s• Develop plans to ensure annual KPI objectives are achieved for safety, product quality, efficiencies and cost, providing direction and support to continuous improvement initiative
s• Coach and performance manage workers with emphasis on frequent communication, feedback and promoting a high level of teamwork and engagemen
t• Plan the effective and efficient scheduling of labour, equipment and material resources for Converting Operation
s• Provide expertise and direction in the determination of equipment, parts and materials needed and coordinating preventative maintenance need
s• Foster strong relationships and communication with internal and externals departments and stakeholder
s• Coach and enforce specific safety rules and behaviours ensuring timely and accurate reporting of accidents / incidents and proactive prevention measure
s• Provide daily feedback to workers on performance and conduct performance reviews with direct report
s• Facilitate crew meetings to ensure current safety, quality and production related issues are considered and resolve
d• Administration and application of the collective agreement and Company policies/procedure

Minimum Qualification
s:• Post-secondary education related to manufacturing engineering or business, or equivalent work experience mandato
ry• 3 to 5 years Supervisory or operations leadership experience within a unionized manufacturing environment, (preferably corrugated industry), with experience in a fast-paced medium to a large size organization is preferr
ed• Strong leadership skills to lead a team of up to 40 unionized worke
rs• Experience working in a unionized environment, knowledge of Collective Agreement and effective performance management of worke
rs• Must work rotating shifts as per operational requiremen
ts• Advanced working knowledge with MS Office Suite applications and systems is a mu
st• Strong communication, interpersonal and critical thinking skills are essenti
al• Ability to organize and prioritize essential tasks to achieve resul
ts• Ability to collaborate well with all stakeholders and work well in a team environme
