This role requires a reliable vehicle to travel to clients’ homes.

What You Need To Be Successful

  • You possess a valid post-secondary diploma as an Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy Assistant
  • Ability to travel within Ottawa - valid driver's license and car insurance is required
  • You can assist/ teach exercise programs and train activities of daily living, including the use of assistive devices
  • You can provide gait and balance training
  • You are knowledgeable in the use of therapeutic equipment
  • You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Your focus is to embrace person and family-centered care
  • You are passionate and empathetic, use good judgment, and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
  • You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
  • You value the role a therapist assistant plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance
