About Motion

Motion is growing fast (3x YoY), our product is sticky and we recently raised $30M in Series B funding. We've doubled our headcount this year and have just under 50 team members.

But we’re just getting started and we need your help!

We’ve built a new category of software to bridge the gap between performance marketers and creative teams. Our platform combines creative analytics, research, and strategy. Motion is the command center for Creative Strategists.

Our customers are top ecom and DTC brands like Vuori, True Classic, The Farmer’s Dog, HexClad, and thousands more. They’ve used Motion to analyze over $6B in media spend.

About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who can connect user problems and our business strategy, empower designers and engineers to build great product, and develop a strong vision for how we can build the technologies that make us the market leading creative strategy platform.

You’ll Be Owning Our Core Creative Analytics Team – Where Our ICP Lives And Most Of Our Product Is Monetized. The Ideal Candidate Has The Right Balance Of Qualities To Help Solve Three Functions For Our Team

  • Can dig deep into the data, lead customers calls, talk to talent in the space and more, to build a product roadmap that aligns with the long-term vision of the organisation
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to get features built, helping bring an idea to life in our product
  • Be skilled at communicating with the team and partners, engaging the right people at the right time with our vision, and owning what success looks like for your work

We hire to increase the quality of our decision making, so we expect our next Product Manager to be ready to learn fast, develop strong opinions, and commit to deeply understanding our user.

As a Senior Product Manager On Our Team, You'll

  • Become an expert in creative strategy – meeting our current customers and prospective ones, engaging with thought leaders in the space, and driving the conversation on what the best creative workflows look like
  • Collaborate with our Design, Engineering, CS, Marketing, and Sales to deeply understand the needs, identify the right tradeoffs, and keep the team aligned
  • Lead your team’s product development cycle, draft product briefs, get into the weeds with planning, and communicate to our broader team
  • Embody leadership. Be a role model for high standards and high quality work, relentlessly challenging assumptions, and passing on these principles to the rest of our org

Must Haves

  • You live in North America (Greater Toronto area / east coast highly preferred!)
  • At least 3 years experience working in the Product function, demonstrating an ability to quickly understand new contexts, work lean, and identify the most potent opportunities
  • At least 5 years of total professional experience
  • Great interpersonal skills; this role will require a lot of collaboration and we want to find a team member who everyone is excited to work with
  • Proven ability to collaborate and empathise with designers, engineers, and executives in organisations
  • Experience working on remote teams and strategies for making that dynamic successful

Bonus

  • Past experience in paid advertising or marketing is a big value ad. Your work involves helping creative teams understand marketing data so wevalue past experience that can help you empathise extra deeply with our users.
  • Our engineering team works with complicated APIs, so we value anyone with experience working with and speaking the language of engineers.
  • Past experience in visual design and user experience, whether as a hobbyist or more. You won’t be making product designs, but expect you to contribute valuable feedback on them.

What You'll Love About Motion

  • We've found product market fit but we're still so early that you will have a major impact.
  • Our organization is product-obsessed. You’ll work closely with our Head of Product and a Senior Product Designer, with a lot of freedom to explore new problems provided you can build a case for it.
  • Our dev team is established enough that we can ship serious features regularly.
  • Our team is very ambitious, super capable and low on egos.
  • We’re a tech company so we have all the standard startup benefits: Great vacation policies, health care, modern tech, home office budget etc. Space to bring your own ideas to life, on the product and the tech
  • Fully remote team with bi-annual international get togethers
  • You’ll be early on the team and get the opportunity to impact the way we do that. We want Motion’s impact in the creative-tech industry to be up there with the Webflows, Canvas and Figmas of the world. We have a deep understanding of the problem space through many years of tinkering in the industry. We know exactly what it’s going to take for Motion to win. We’d love for you to join us on the ride!

Motion has thrived in 2023, and 2024 has been a defining year here. We are finishing the year with fresh funding and exceptional signals from our clients. On top of this, our founding team has built successful companies before. This role offers an incredible opportunity to get in on the ground floor (we are only about 50 people right now) to help us build a category defining company in the “creative-tech” space.
