Auditor, SOX Compliance & Advisory Intro

On behalf of our client Procom is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Auditor, SOX Compliance & Advisory to join their team. This is a 12 month contract in downtown Calgary Alberta.


Auditor, SOX Compliance & Advisory Job Details

Reporting to the Senior Manager, SOX Compliance & Advisory, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning and execution of the SOX program, testing SOX processes, and participating in SOX advisory activities related to various initiatives.

The Contract Auditor will be responsible for understanding how internal controls relate to the company's externally reported financial results, updating process documentation, and performing tests to ensure processes are designed and operating effectively. This role involves identifying financial control exceptions, assisting with deficiency evaluations, and facilitating remediation strategies. The auditor will also test key reports, spreadsheets, and application controls, and build cooperative relationships with stakeholders to optimize business processes and controls. The role includes interaction with external auditors and assessing information from multiple sources to draw logical conclusions.


Auditor, SOX Compliance & Advisory Mandatory Skills

  • Over 2-3 years of experience in a public accounting firm or related audit, accounting, or finance activities.
  • Undergraduate Degree with a professional accounting designation (CA/CPA) or working towards it.
  • In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices.
  • Strong technical skills with attention to detail.
  • Business acumen and ability to be a credible business advisor.
  • Ability to work independently and make routine decisions.
  • Commitment to professional excellence and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Highly organized with strong planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to think strategically and identify ways to optimize processes.
