The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. What You’ll Do:
- Budget Preparation: Create budgets and estimates by determining and quantifying scopes of work and applying pricing to quantified items. Communicate with subcontractors to clarify work and mitigate scope gaps.
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments for each estimate, interpreting contracts and supplementary conditions to develop strategies for risk mitigation.
- Project Planning: Develop execution plans for projects, including preliminary schedules with start and completion dates.
- Site Assessments: Attend meetings and site visits to evaluate project complexities and determine the best approach.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication and relationships with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and Acadian team members.
- Market Monitoring: Stay informed about market trends in residential, industrial, and commercial sectors to identify profitable opportunities.
- Continuous Improvement: Embrace new technologies, methods, and constructive feedback to enhance estimating processes.
- Team Collaboration: Foster a team-oriented environment, sharing best practices and supporting colleagues to achieve common goals.
Qualifications:
- A diploma in Engineering Technology or a Bachelor in Engineering is an asset.
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in estimating within the construction industry is required.
- Strong oral and written skills in English is required.
- Gold Seal Certification in Estimating is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the MS Office suite, MS Project, On-Screen Takeoff, and familiarity with Revit Bim.
- Proficiency in French, both oral and written, is an asset.
