MLSE is looking for an experienced Technology Lead for Toronto Football Club (TFC) and Toronto Argonauts, who will be responsible for overseeing all technology-related aspects and providing continuous support to ensure smooth operations for both teams. This role involves managing technology for TFC, Toronto FC II, Toronto FC Academy, and The Toronto Argonauts, as well as collaborating with various leagues such as MLS, MLS Next Pro, MLS Next, CFL, FIFA, and Concacaf.

  • Technology Oversight and Support: The role involves managing technology requests for TFC, Toronto FC II, Toronto FC Academy, and The Toronto Argonauts, and providing 24/7 support to key team members and departments, including scouts in different time zones.
  • Game Day and Off-site Support: Responsibilities include providing IT support during games for various staff and media outlets, and setting up technology for events like league meetings, press conferences, and scouting meetings.
  • Software and Facility Management: The Tech Lead manages MLSE software, Toronto FC/Argonauts-specific software, and technology in team facilities, ensuring everything is functional and up-to-date.
  • Project and Budget Management: This role involves managing technology and A/V projects, overseeing budgets, vendor relationships, and asset management, while collaborating with league representatives and venue technology teams.
  • League Collaboration: The Tech Lead builds and maintains successful working relationships with Major League Soccer (MLS), Canadian Football League (CFL) league representatives, and collaborates with MLS & CFL technicians on in-game and stadium-related issues/maintenance/upgrades.
  • Business Continuity and Support: The Tech Lead works and maintains working relationships with the other Business Departments within MLSE, including IT Collaboration on projects and Venue Technology on strategy and implementations. The Tech Lead is the primary on-site contact for all things related to the Venues.

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support or technology management, preferably in a sports or entertainment environment (specifically, Microsoft suite of products including but not limited to Active Directory & O365, MAC OS and deployment tools such as InTune & JAMF)
  • Experience with project management, including budgeting and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with broadcasting and event technology.
  • Solid understanding of software systems, particularly those related to sports management and facility operations.
  • Proficiency in A/V technology and IT infrastructure management.
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions and collaboration tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work with diverse teams, including coaches, scouts, and league representatives.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for technical issues during events and daily operations.
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially on game days and during critical events.
  • Willingness to provide 24/7 support and be available during non-traditional hours, including game days and special events.
  • Familiarity with the operations of professional sports leagues (MLS, CFL, FIFA, etc.) and their technology needs.
