Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Administrator based in Surrey, British Columbia. This role is largely focused on payroll functions in a workplace that offers a hybrid of on-site training and remote work. This role is crucial to our team, with responsibilities including processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and resolving payroll-related issues. This is a 2-3 month temporary role, 100% remote after training.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the processing of payroll for approximately 250 hourly employees on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Utilize Ceridian PowerPay and other related software to manage payroll.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely entry of salary information for employees.
  • Investigate any discrepancies in payroll and take necessary action to resolve them.
  • Ensure compliance with three collective agreements in the payroll process.
  • Perform regular audits of payroll for conformity with legislation, regulations, agreements, and procedures.
  • Respond to questions and inquiries from employees and supervisors regarding payroll.
  • Assist in establishing workflows and operating procedures for payroll.
  • Administer policies related to payroll and ensure their proper implementation.
  • Work on the implementation and execution of payroll-related systems and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Skills

  • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, bi-Monthly Payroll, Microsoft Excel, Union Contracts, Payroll - Union, Canadian Payroll, Payroll - 101 - 500 Employees.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and lookups.
  • Highly organized and comfortable asking questions when necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role
  • Proficient in using ADP Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience with Ceridian software
  • Knowledge in processing bi-Monthly Payroll
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with Union Contracts and Payroll for Union Employees
  • Experience in handling Canadian Payroll
  • Previous experience in managing Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
