Job Description

ECO Canada is looking for a performance-driven individual to join the Professional Services team.

Reporting to the Director, Professional Services, the successful candidate will support the execution of ECO Canada’s BEAHR (Building Environmental Aboriginal Human Resources) program, while supporting the development and management of new projects and programs.

This is an entry-level role perfect for someone with a business mindset who is comfortable working independently and excited about developing new ideas. The position will provide the chance to gain a variety of experiences through different tasks and responsibilities.

While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, we take a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to develop and take ownership of his/her ideas and to see them through from concept development to completion, collaborating with key stakeholders as required. This role presents a unique opportunity to work in various areas, including program coordination, stakeholder engagement, project management, proposal writing, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of environmental programs and projects.
  • Administer the BEAHR (Building Environmental Aboriginal Human Resources) program by coordinating activities.
  • Help with administrative tasks, including communication with trainers and participants.
  • Track budget and expenses and provide regular updates on program activities.
  • Assist in researching and preparing technical documents, including reports and proposals.
  • Help build relationships with communities, industry partners, and academic institutions.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and business opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support for planning and executing events and activities.
  • Update templates and documents for program use.
  • Assist with additional project support as needed.

Qualifications And Education

  • Graduate of a post-secondary program. Background in Environmental Science/Studies program, business administration, Indigenous relations or similar will be an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a coordinator role.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience in working with Indigenous Peoples, including programming and community engagement will be an asset.
  • Must be willing to travel, including visits to Indigenous Communities, as required.

This is a permanent, full-time role with a three-month probationary period upon start date.

ECO Canada offers the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement (minimum 3 days per week at the Calgary office and the option to work remotely for the remaining 2 days).
