Job Description

Drake International is recruiting on behalf of a highly reputed client in Ottawa. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Ottawa, supporting a multifamily residential property.

What We Offer:

  • Salary: $47000 - $53000
  • Job Type/Shift: Full-Time Permanent

What You'll Do:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components
  • Work Orders & Maintenance Reports: Complete work orders, maintenance tasks, and reporting as needed
  • Repairs & Troubleshooting: Conduct common plumbing, electrical, and heating/A/C repairs. Install and repair appliances and systems when require
  • Property & Systems Inspections: Perform daily checks and preventative maintenance of building systems
  • Electronics & Component Testing: Diagnose, adjust, and repair electronic components and systems following manuals and schematics
  • Building Maintenance: Patch/paint walls, repair doors/windows, cabinets, and other fixtures
  • Suite Inspections: Assist with semi-annual suite inspections and pre-move-out inspections
  • Contractor Coordination: Oversee outside contractors working on building systems and repairs
  • New Construction: Identify deficiencies in new buildings and coordinate with trades for warranty repairs
  • Emergency Response: Respond to after-hours emergency calls as part of the rotational on-call system

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, ideally in multi-family residential properties.
  • Skillset: Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, heating/A/C, power tools, and safety requirements. Experience in patching/painting and general handyman work is required.
  • Physical Ability: Must have the endurance to lift, carry, and climb as needed.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.
  • Independence: Strong time management skills and ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Problem-Solving: Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Team Player: Positive work ethic and strong teamwork abilities.
