Job Description

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manager - Supply Chain Canada in our Minerals & Metals Canadian operations. Reporting to the Director, Operations, with functional direction provided by Group Supply Chain, this position can be located in our Vancouver, BC, Saskatoon, SK, or Oakville, ON office. This role has overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the Supply Chain team across Canada providing all aspects of supply chain management including materials management, expediting, procurement, contracts, and reporting, always in strict accordance with Wood Supply Chain Code of Business conduct.

Salary range: CAD $160,000 - $197,000 per year

Responsibilities

  • Overall management of the Supply Chain function across the Minerals & Metals Canadian operations
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive supply chain strategy and operation that aligns with the company’s business and project objectives.
  • In conjunction with the corporate leadership team, participate in the formation, improvements and subsequent project implementation of the supply chain volume of the corporate Project Management Plan, including Policies, Procedures, Instructions, Forms and Standards.
  • Ensure consistency and monitor performance of project delivery and SCM systems on projects in accordance with the PMP, and take corrective action where necessary
  • Prepare, maintain, and assure compliance with procedures, quality control standards, best practice and provide guidance and direction to staff on projects
  • Ensure adequate training programs are identified, developed, and maintained.
  • Recruit, interview, evaluate, and manage staffing levels to ensure project staffing and utilization targets are achieved
  • Conduct staff performance and personal development reviews, and provide recommendations for promotion, salary levels, work assignment and external training programs
  • Oversee the development, mentoring, and training of the supply chain team for their personal development and to support projects in the areas of procurement, contracts administration, expediting, logistics and quality surveillance.
  • Assign qualified staff to projects in coordination with the project managers, as required by the project staffing plan
  • Provide input in the areas of execution plans, estimates, and resourcing for proposals
  • Provide business development and client relations support, as required
  • Promote, supervise, and monitor compliance with Wood HSSE, Risk Management and Quality Management procedures for department administrative and project work
  • Participate in corporate, office, and project audits related to supply chain functions
  • Maintain a strong network both within and outside of supply chain department.
  • Act as a role model and champion Woods vision, values, and behaviors.
  • As required, take Supply Chain Management role on a project.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical diploma/university degree with a minimum of 10 years purchasing and contracts administration experience on heavy industrial projects
  • SCMP Designation or equivalent would be considered an asset
  • Professional Contracts Administrator designation would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Minerals & Metals projects or heavy industrial projects; EPCM projects would be considered an asset
  • Strategic thinker contributing to the management and improvement of the overall business objectives and projects
  • Excellent English language communication skills, written, oral and presentation
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office applications, including data base manipulation
  • Enthusiastic proactive attitude providing inspiring leadership
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
