The Office of the Registrar is responsible for student recruitment and admissions, direct and online service to current students, including registration, financial aid, scholarships, academic assessments, graduation and petitions. It also provides course scheduling, administration of tests and exams, enrolment data analysis and business intelligence.

Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Associate Registrar and Director of Admissions & Student Recruitment, the Assistant Registrar and Manager, Admissions & Transfer Credit will play an integral role in supporting campus enrolment goals by ensuring that admissions and transfer credit operations are efficiently and strategically implemented. You will use your expertise and knowledge in admissions and transfer credit to make equitable and accurate decisions reflecting the principles of strategic enrolment management. A collaborative and diplomatic leader, you will direct the activities of a team of admissions and transfer credit professionals and work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders. Embodying the values of the University of Toronto Scarborough, the incumbent will act as a senior resource in decision making, and promote equity and consistency in application, assessment and transfer credit practices. You will prepare and analyze complex admissions enrolment reports to make data-informed decisions and utilize innovative approaches to enhance productivity. The incumbent will recommend policy changes that bolster enrolment growth and lead projects that strengthen inclusivity and improve service delivery of admissions and transfer credit operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Determining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processes.
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications.
  • Verifying student enrollments meet transfer credit rules.
  • Interpreting academic regulations, program and degree requirements.
  • Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Overseeing day-to-day service delivery requirements and operational needs.
  • Analyzing statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities.
  • Directing the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent and related experience in admissions and transfer credit assessment.
  • Must have supervisory experience, overseeing staff within a unionized post-secondary environment.
  • Excellent organization, project management, and communication skills to excel in a highly service-oriented environment.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment and maintain productive and respectful working relationships with all stakeholders including staff, faculty, students and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting and complying with applicable collective agreements.
  • Proficiency and experience working with financial administration and responsibilities.
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to use Student Information Systems.
  • Experience with CRM tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to create and manipulate detailed reports in Excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion; adhering to established policies and procedures.
