About The Position

  • We are searching for a temporary (up to 12 months) Assistant Manager, Claims Services to join our Claims Services team.
  • PBCs compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is $78,000 – $92,000 per year; the base pay offered is based on market and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. The starting salary will be determined based on a combination of skills, education, and experience.

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact

The Assistant Manager, Claims Services provides leadership to employees to help motivate, set performance objectives, conduct coaching sessions, oversee training for team members, and conduct team meetings.

This role works with the manager to create departmental tactical plans in alignment with corporate objectives.

In this role, you would work on a workforce plan, monitor it regularly, and proactively create and implement strategies to address gaps and service deficiencies.

As Assistant Manager, you would partner with other internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective cross-departmental planning, communication, and implementation of plans to achieve PBC’s strategic plan.

This role researches and recommends options to improve processes and create efficiency to ensure PBC remains cost effective and competitive.

You would assist employees in dealing with difficult inquiries and complaints from external stakeholders.

In this role you would attend client meetings to build relationships, solve issues, and improve service.

As Assistant Manager, you would provide leadership throughout the project management cycle to help implement changes.

This role provides supervision and mentorship to Team Leaders to ensure delivery of projects within service and budget expectations.

You would assist the department in administration of activities such as statistical reporting, Workday, and other reports.

Key Experiences You Bring To This Role

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a major in Business Administration, Commerce, or an equivalent field including or supplemented by courses in leadership/supervision.
  • 5 years of related experience in the insurance industry, operations management, people leadership, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a large team of administrative staff (20+ employees).
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and workforce planning.
