Description

Our respected client, a non-profit organization is seeking a skilled and passionate Accounting Manager. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge in financial management procedures to facilitate the accurate execution of the organization's accounting policies, systems, and procedures.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing and maintaining timely and accurate financial statements in line with ASNPO.
  • Actively preparing and refining methods for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure the success of financial operations.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements of the organization.
  • Organizing for various rebates, refunds, and exemptions as appropriate and preparing supportive information for annual audits.
  • Overseeing and reconciling the general ledger, bank accounts, and investment portfolios.
  • Managing cash flow and preparing policy-compliant forecasts.
  • Developing and implementing policies to secure financial information in compliance with current legislation.
  • Assisting with financial reporting for board and annual general meetings.
  • Establishing budget preparation guidelines and preparing the annual budget in discussion with the Senior Director.
  • Assisting the Senior Director in preparing appealing business cases for specific funding applications.
  • Maintaining individual project financial records that facilitate the production of efficient management reports.
  • Monitoring risk management policies to minimize organizational and programmatic risks.
  • Negotiating with financial institutions for lines of credit, mortgages, and other required financial services.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with community associations, agencies, and stakeholders, and representing the organization in community activities.

Requirements

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA) is ideal but not a must-have!
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of ASPE or ASNPO
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience in budget preparation and financial reporting
