Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

1 year of recent (within the last 2 years) of adult acute experience and/or a recent successful preceptorship in orthopaedic/surgical may be considered (within the last 2 years).

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year of recent adult acute orthopaedic/surgical experience (within the last year) is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent assessment and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly stressful environment. Inpatient Connect Care proficiency. Administering Medications via CVC, PICC, and IVAD course through CLPNA and Administering Parenteral Nutrition course through CLPNA
