Dream is currently looking for a Senior Associate, Strategic Finance whose core function is to be responsible for preparing dynamic and comprehensive financial models and corporate strategies across various business lines within Dream, including its publicly listed entities and private equity funds

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will be responsible for internal/external presentations and communications to senior management, various research initiatives, ad-hoc sensitivities, market and peer competitive analysis. In addition to supporting our multiple business lines, you will also assist the team with evaluation of capital allocation decisions, investments, and corporate development initiatives with a focus on our US platform. Projects may include assisting senior management with growth, M&A, and new product development in Dream’s private and public asset management businesses. 

You will be expected to develop the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with various leaders across all the business lines within Dream. This role offers room for growth and increasing responsibility over time. 

Our ideal candidate is very proficient in financial modeling, has a deep understanding of capital markets and real estate markets and has business writing experience. Our ideal candidate has the ability to work under limited supervision and can demonstrate their ability to synthesize large amounts of information to come to strategic conclusions and observations, has a strong attention to detail, a proven ability to multi-task, experience in producing zero-defect work and ability to handle stress effectively in high pressure situations. In addition, the candidate will assist in the development of more junior members of the organization.

What Type of Experience Do You Have? 

These are some of the things we would like you to bring to the table: 

• 5+ years of experience in a corporate finance or related role (e.g., investment banking, equity research, transaction advisory, consulting, etc.)
• Very proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Experience with Bloomberg and Capital IQ is considered an asset
• Have a strong interest in real estate, and the pursuit to constantly learn and challenge yourself
• Exceptional track record of academic achievement and professional advancement
• Excellent and proven business writing capabilities and oral communication
• In-depth knowledge of the Canadian and US public and private real estate sectors and capital markets. Knowledge of diversified asset classes considered a plus
• A CPA, CFA or CBV designation (or pursuit thereof) is considered a plus
• Due to the nature of the role, availability beyond normal business hours may be required
