Fairmont Banff Springs is looking for an energetic individual to assist in the delivery of our Resort Activities program through both the Youth Activities & the Outdoor Recreation Centre. Resort Activities Animators should have a wide variety of talents but above all should have excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn.
Starting Rate: $20.55
Job Duties Include:
- Facilitate and present small and large scale activities independently or with other Resort Activities Animators, as needed in a youth, family and /or adult environment
- Assist in the set-up for all facilitated activities and execute clean-up duties upon completion of program, including cleaning and sanitizing of spaces and objects, before, during, and after the facilities open / activity ends.
- Interact with and supervise all children participating in youth activities programs, ages 3-12 years, by providing a safe environment so children of all ages will enjoy themselves
- Contribute new activity ideas and assist in the future development of Resort Activities, as well as other programs
- Assist with the daily operation of the Resort Activities Centre which includes booking rentals and selling products and amenities.
- Carry out all other tasks as assigned by the Resort Activities Manager or Executive Team
- Other duties as assigned
Your Skills & Qualfications:
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR “C” or greater is mandatory
- Minimum two years recent experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced recreational / camp environment with children / family
- Positive, outgoing and professional attitude with a passion for working with children
- Previous experience facilitating / hosting many types of games, crafts, activities, interactive programming, etc and commanding the attention of children
- Graduate or student of an Outdoor Recreation/ Ecotourism, Tourism, Early Childhood Education or College of Piping program an asset
- Must be physically fit and able to run all activities in any weather including walking, hiking, playing sports (includes water sports)
- Must be able to lift and carry 40+ lbs and be on your feet for 8 hours a day
