Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Promotions Technician on a temporary basis, up to 18 months, on our Centre Store Food team.
This position is a hybrid opportunity and is based in Saskatoon, SK.
Our Promotions Technician role is a high-level non-management position that is a great stepping stone for management roles at FCL. If you are looking to gain experience in the retail/wholesale Food industry and want to get your foot in the door, this is the opportunity for you!
What you’ll do:
- Create the layout for the weekly print grocery flyer which includes plotting items provided by Category Management Teams and working with vendors to create multi-product inserts.
- Proof and edit multiple print and in-store promotions per week ensuring all timelines are strictly adhered to, ensure all flyer guidelines are met, and sign off on press proof.
- Communicate to retails any promotional information including price, item changes, etc.
- Proof fresh inputs and fresh layout before sending information to Marketing & Communications.
- Communicate effectively with the team, retails, other departments, and vendors.
- Other duties as required.
Who you’ll work with:
The Team: You will work closely with two other Promotions Technicians and will report into the Food Marketing Supervisor. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, support, communication.
The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our Food team and collaborate across the organization with teams such as Marketing and Communications.

We help local Co-ops serve their communities by providing support and leadership to food, pharmacy, liquor and convenience stores, and by delivering quality products and exemplary customer service.
Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Sales & Marketing and:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in retail/wholesale food industry (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.)
- Have a recognized two-year post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or Marketing. Preference will be given to those applicants who hold a University degree.
- Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with daily deadlines while working within a team environment.
- Have a general knowledge and interest in food and grocery.
