Detailed Overview

In accordance with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) standards of practice and the Mission and Values of Fraser Health, and working collaboratively with clinical and operational leaders within Fraser Health, other Health Authorities and with government agencies as appropriate, the Project Development Nurse assists in the development and implementation of assigned projects or program initiatives across Fraser Health.

Assists with the planning and design required for implementing, maintaining, and evaluating the assigned project/initiative; develops educational strategies and teaching plans in accordance with the implementation process. Accountable for the development and effectiveness of new procedures and guidelines.

Travels regularly to a variety of Fraser Health sites to attend meetings, information sessions and group discussions.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development and implementation of the assigned project or initiative across Fraser Health. Compiles information and data in support of key strategies specific to the implementation of the project; provides feedback and reports to the Director/Manager as specified.
  • Develops project documentation.
  • In collaboration with the project implementation team, participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of service delivery and/or education programs, teaching strategies and related activities specific to the assigned project/initiative.
  • Identifies target groups for education, liaises with community partners, and proposes roll-out strategies for project education and information sessions.
  • Liaises with organizations, agencies and stakeholder communities to identify and document project deliverables and to discuss and resolve issues in support of efficient and effective execution of the project/initiative.
  • Liaises with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the coordination of information is maintained.
  • Participates in evaluative research initiatives, initiative planning, and evaluation activities, taking an interdisciplinary and consultative approach, when requested.
  • Develops policies, procedures and guidelines consistent with standards of practice in support of the assigned project initiative.
  • Travels on a regular basis to a variety of Fraser Health sites to attend meetings, information sessions and group discussions.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

Six (6) months project management and/or leadership experience. Certification or post-graduate courses in designated clinical area as required by project. Three (3) years' recent, relevant nursing experience in a designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Valid Class V BC Drivers License and access to a vehicle for business-related purposes.

  • Ability to operate related equipment, including a personal computer and related software.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
